Ava is sick! Wow, it started Tues. night and is still going on! So much for a relaxing week! Matt and I were rotating staying at home with Ava so that we could minimize exposure to Audrey. 106 degree fever is really high and I don't think Audrey would handle it as well. Luckily it was only that high for a short period of time. It was mainly in the 104s close to time to take medicine again and 102 most the other time. Ava has never had fever like this so it took me by surprise. The doc wanted to see her because her fever was so high. He did a CVC and checked her white blood cell counts and they were normal. He checked her urine as well and the only think they found in there was stuff to let him know that she hadn't been eating much (ke...something). So somewhere we picked up a nasty virus and thus far we've managed to confine it only to Ava. Matt and I aren't feeling too great but he's had an awful week at work and the added stress of a sick daughter and for me work was ok, but trying to soothe and take care of your kids when they're like this is stressful as well. The day she got so sick I came home from work and was laying in bed with her until her dr. appointment and I had to turn over so she didn't see me cry. The look in her eyes and the fear of the fever was pretty powerful and gut wrenching. Not as bad as Audrey's fall off the counter but gut wrenching in a different way. With Audrey once I saw her I knew she was alright, but with Ava so looked awful and it didn't just go away.
Ava is still running a fever but much lower grade! I am hoping in the next day or so she'll be over this! I know I don't want it....and I don't want anyone else to get it either!
