Ready or Not Here I Come!

Matt and I had a relaxing Sunday evening with the girls last night, it was great! We defrosted some soup we had made previously and had an easy, minimal clean-up meal. After dinner Matt and Ava were getting a little restless, Audrey and I were perfectly fine sitting and relaxing. Matt decided to teach Ava the game of hide and seek. It was the cutest thing ever, she wanted to seek instead of hide. It was almost like torture for her to hide and stay there long enough for Matt to find her. Most of the time she met him in the hallway giggling. Well I thought she just needed a little help so Audrey and I decided to join in. Ava and I hid while Matt and Audrey counted. This time we actually hid somewhere and stayed there long enough for her to see Matt pass by a couple times and she couldn't stand it anymore and started giggling so that Matt found us. But the fact that Daddy couldn't find us was great! This is the same child that likes to hid from Mommy and not come out when I call for her, so why she had such a hard time last night I don't know!!!! Then it was Matt and Audrey's turn to hide. Ava and I counted to all of about six before she was off looking for Matt. She would go to a room, turn on the lights, look around and then close the door (not sure where she got that!). We found them in the very last room we looked. Matt said Audrey decided to "talk" to him while they were hiding so he had to move around a bit, but it must have been when we were on the other side of the house because I didn't hear her. They played a couple more times but I distracted Ava when I got a cookie. She has satellite ears and heard the package and came running in the kitchen asking if she could have one too. Poor Matt was still hiding as she was eating her cookie with Mommy. He finally came out and I apologized for distracting and that was the end of Ava's first time playing hide and seek. Some things will always trump others, and to Matt's delight (maybe not this time but most times!) Ava loves sweets!
