Today is Matt and I's five year anniversary! Wow how time has flown by. We let each other know what we were giving each other last night since they are both experience gifts and we can't do them this weekend. It's the annual Memorial Day Campout and it conflicts with our anniversary.
So here are the gifts:
I am giving Matt a helicopter ride around Fort Worth. With him working on helicopters I just thought it would be a once in a lifetime experience we can share for our fifth anniversary. Ava heard me talk about it and for the last two months she's been telling me (and Matt) that she wants to go for a ride in a helicopter. Luckily Matt didn't catch on and he had no idea!
He is giving me dance lessons, as a couple of course! I wanted to do this before our wedding but the timing didn't work out. So he is giving it to me for our five year anniversary. I love to dance, I'm not that great (according to my sister) but I think I have some rhythm and I like to do it so that is all that matters! We have attended several weddings lately and I really wanted to get out there and dance. Maybe now I can drag Matt out there with me :)
Things have been super crazy lately, just got back from DC on Tuesday night and was at the 40 year celebration of Leonard middle school (not sure if it's my best friend from high school's family, gotta find out!). We were recognized as their adopt-a-school partners. We speak at career day, go on field trips and judge science fair projects. Here is a picture from our booth.
I knew that I might run into some people opposed to nuclear, but I didn't really think it would happen. And yes, of course, it did. But it was good I was able to educate him on some issues, don't think I changed his mind, but that wasn't my goal. I wanted to inspire kids to go into engineering or some other math and science field (especially little girls). I was able to do that and it is always rewarding.
I'll be catching up soon, and adding more because Audrey is 8 months old today!
